Hi everyone. We're thinking of buying a house but it's number 13! This doesnt' bother me but I just wondered if it might cause problems if / when we decide to move. So....do you or would you live in a house with the number 13 on the door?

Wouldn't cause me a problem. My ds has his birthday on the 13th - you can imagine some people's reaction on Friday 13th!!! Seriously, though wouldn't be a problem for us.

Wouldn't bother me kizzie, if it was a nice house I don't think it would cross my mind.

It wouldn't bother me either, in fact I grew up in no. 113 and my parents still live there after over 30 years! If you want to you could always give the house a name instead.

Yes I do and no it doesn't. This is the happiest house I've lived in and everyone comments on what a good "feel" it has.

Definately agree it's all cultural. I don't know if it's possible in the location your living and I know it's not to everyone's taste but if ti really bothers you could you substitute a name instead

Hmm, not sure, actually. I think I would be a little uncomfortable, but then if it's the right house...?

I've lived in two number 13s. The first, unhappily (my then boyfriend announced he was gay, after a 5 year relationship!!) and my current flat where I have had two lovely children. We're in the process of selling the flat, now and had an offer within a week of putting it on the market.

Wouldn't bother me although I don't tend to be supersticious (sp?) - our street does not have a no. 13 - jumps on the odd side from 11 to 15.

We lived at a no 13 very happily, and one of the best things that ever happened to me arrived on Friday 13th - my ds is a Friday 13th child. She used to get terribly upset when teachers etc made thoughtless comments about 13.

My ds was born on Friday 13th too! Someone told me that it was lucky if you have a big occasion on that date, but I think that they were trying to make me feel better!

Anyway, it's only a date. After checking ds's head for a '666', we relaxed!!!
