Dad coming to stay for the weekend, what do I need to plan?

We have just moved into our new house about a month ago, and we've finally got a spare room so my dad is coming to stay for the whole weekend starting from this evening. I haven't seen him in quite a few months now, i'd say nearer the beginning of this year so will be great to see him but to be honest we don't really socialise too often, and he's a little shy.

I have done a big food shop and planned dinner for both evenings which I think both him and my partner will enjoy. But other than that, do I need to plan 'activities' to do? Or shall I just go with once he is here?

More info: my partner has just started working away from home and he's also home for the first time this evening so need to work around making everyone happy, and relaxed. We live in a little village in the countryside with a couple pubs just over the road.

Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

I think you are perhaps overthinking it.

Make and share food, chat, visit a pub if you all fancy it. Watch tv, put the radio on - just go about your day normally and integrate your dad.

I think I am over thinking it massively Blush

Thank you for your advice anyway, I will try to relax about it!
