Does anyone know where I can buy one of these old-fashioned wooden clothes pulleys that you attach from the ceiling?

Aren't they called Sheila Maids, I've seen them advertised in the back of housey magazines in the small ads by mail order. R

I bought one from the back pages of good housekeeping, it is brilliant!

The schol shirts are taken out of the drier and hung straight onto the Sheila Maid and nned hardly any ironing, It is useful as it pulss up out of the way above our heads in the laundry room, with all the washing on it.

I'll find the address for you.

www.sheilamaid.com they start at about £45, these are the genuine ones, but I think you can get cheaper imitations in some kitchen shops.

Mima - I can tell you exactly where: that fancy ironmongers on George St! We had one in our last flat, and have just put one in to our new flat - how do other people manage without one? Very nice lady in there will explain what you need.

Thanks for that Rosy, I know exactly what fancy shop you mean, the one next to the equally as fancy Jewellers. Will try there this week, or failing that the sheilamaid website.
