I've seen on here that the Operation Christmas Child - Samaritan's Purse appeal has its detractors.....but what about the Trussell Trust? Do they check out okay?

Trussell trust run foodbanks, I Havent heard that they have the same problems as the samaritans purse.

Dd2s school have sent home a letter saying that their mini vinnies are collecting for operation shoebox in romania. I have googled and havent been able to find anything. Im assuming theyre a catholic charity but does anyone know anything about them?

www.trusselltrust.org/christmas-boxes

They're one of the biggest providers of food banks in UK.

These boxes are for all ages and both sexes, targeted to one country only, and suggested contents are all useful things (toiletries, sewing kits, stationery, socks etc). They appear to be serious, and closely targeted on alleviation of the conditions of those in poverty.

It is a Christian foundation, but it is non-proselytising.

yes our school is also now doing their Christmas shoe box scheme. I am happy to help as long as I know there is not an evangelical or missionary part to their work, as a stated Christian charity.
