Why is there no mnet local site? I just moved to bham, having commuted there to work for several years. Got little family nearby and would be good to have some local friends. Am mid twenties, no kids yet but married and love them and want to ttc soon. Work long hours but make the effort for friends when needed. Like reading, baking, knitting, walking, running, drinking wine and general socialising....anyone out there? Grin

Hey Lady, living between halesowen and cradley heath, about 8 miles west of the centre. Work in the city centre itself. What about you?

Hi Sweet and Lady, I'm also in the area (just moved back) and am west of the city in Bearwood. I was also cusious about how many MNetters are in the area.

There are loads of Brummies on MN - not everyone wants to meet up though, the joy of an internet forum for some people is that you are a bit anonymous.

You're absolutely right BackforGood. I think it would change the nature of the forum if there were too many 'identifying features' for those that see this as their bolthole/escape/support network in certain (sometimes very difficult) situations.

It would be great however, if the opportunity to meet up was available to those that felt they could benefit from it.

I personally think the greatest potential benefit of a well maintained 'Local' site is the ability to identify local providers of goods and services that other MN users could recommend/review

Thanks lady, that'll come in useful when I have my nieces and nephews over and they need entertaining!

Are you a true brummie or did you move in from elsewhere? I have to say the people are really friendly! Grin

Nope. Not a true one. Have lived here since uni so 12 ish years. It is home now though Smile Would recommend Parlour Hair in town. They are near the town hall and are open late so ideal for after work trips. They are on Facebook too.

We use Chad and Wes (brothers) at Urban Roots and have done since they started over ten years ago. They are in Lower Temple Street and even have a discount for new customers if you go to their website...
