My ds 3.5 attens nursery school 3 half days a week. Has just had chronic virus that lasted 1 week/ PROBLEM IS IF HE IS ILL, HE CAN'T GO TO NURSERY. wOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM satm OR WORKING MUMS WHO USE A NURSEY CONCERNING THE IDEA THAT IF CHILD DOES NOT GO TO NURSEY HE/SHE GETA LESS COLDS/coughhs etc.. Is this true or is it just bad luck ????

How long has your ds been attending nursery marinda?

I found that my ds caught everything under the sun for the first 3/4 months or so and then things settled down.

Only a month. but this last virus dear me , he was not fit for anything but sleepng on the sofa. Of course, I don't mind looking after him, but I keep thinking he mixes with 20 kids day so am I doing him any favours !!!

He should become less sesitive to the viruses and bugs after a few short months. Even as a teacher I found that at the start of my traching career I would be forever catching something or other for the first term each year, as I met all the new kids. Much better now.

Know how you feel. My ds1 (now 7) was permanently ill for the first 3 months of being at nursery - then the summer came along and offered a bit of respite. Then the following winter it wasn't as bad . Hellish at the time though .
