Nurseries on the Victoria Line (North)

I would be very grateful for recommendations (or otherwise!) for nurseries in in and around the Tottenham Hale area or any others around tube stations Seven Sisters, Finsbury Park, High bury and Islington and Kings Cross.

My baby is due in June and will need to go to nursery from January next year.

Looking around tube stations since we don't have a car and it will be easier to drop baby off and pick him up on my way to and from work.

So far everything I have looked at, in the Tottenham Hale area at least, has an Ofsted rating of Good. Been looking for Outstanding ones but no joy

Happy with Good too if they give due attention to babies and don't just leave them to their own devices.

IME it's almost always best to go with a nursery closer to home over one closer to work. Makes life much much easier on 'odd' days like when you're ill, working away, need someone else to collect etc. Also better if you happen to change jobs.

Look at the actual reports not just good/outstanding. Some good nurseries can have outstanding elements and it's all just an exercise in paperwork imo.

Visiting the nurseries is more important and you may also want to consider fees as this may help with choices! Good luck!

Ofsted really doesn't mean much. I have experience of a couple of good/outstanding nurseries that provided terrible care.

Have you considered childminders? IMO they provide a better environment for a young baby.
