Government funded playgroup/pre school?

Can anyone tell me if my child will be entitled to some free (ie government funded) hours at a playgroup/preschool at any point?
Am I right in thinking they get something like 15 hours free once they hit aged two?

It depends on your circumstances to get funding at 2.

Income support
Income based or equal based JSA
CTC or WTC and have an annual income of no more than £16190
Income related or equal based employment and support allowance
Guaranteed element of state pension credit
Support under part 4 of the immigration and asylum act 1999

Your child has a statement of SEN, gets DLA, is looked after by the local authority

I just opened the letter coincidentally.

It doesn't start until the term after they turn 2 though. My child was 2 in January but funding doesn't start until April.

you have to qualify to get funding from age 2 whereas they all get funded sessions from the term after the turn 3

Otherwise it is the term after they turn 3.
