Sounds like an awful situation, for everyone involved. Definitely put her in nursery and then withdraw her when you need to. She'll get way more interaction and activities at nursery than with someone who plonks her in front of the TV for hours! Your MIL, however well intentioned she was at the start, clearly cannot cope.
You should put her in nursery. At my DDs nursery you have to give one months written notice. It sounds like it would be a much more fun and stimulating environment for your child. Visit a few though before choosing.
MIl has let us down with childcare arrangements. i wanted to put dd in nursery 3-4 days a week and mil look after her 1-2 daysa week but she insisted she have her 5 days a week as it was a "waste of money". i had worries she would strugg;le looking after a toddler but she insisted she would be fine and they would get out and about etc. she's in her 60s, so i was nervous about this but she said unless she looks after her FT she won't take her at all.
Cue me back at work FT.
Realstionship with MIL is now extremely bad - refuses to take her out as it's too much hassle, puts her in front of the TV for 2-3 hours a day to watch cartoons and always criticises the food I make and bring and always chnages her outfits.
I have tuned a blind eye to the cartoons, outfits and criticism, but have asked her to take DD out for walks even a couple of times a week even just for 20 mins to get some fresh air.
It's not got verybad. she's refused essentially I can see she's struggling )(she is always asking me to take holiday from work to give her a break), and always threatening to bring dd to my work place and leave her there.
I knew this would happen and very upset that I allowed her to pursuade me to let her have her FT and it's got this this.
We are arguing daily -today it was because i pointed out her toys were in the bottom of her pram and she screamed and swore at me that she knew this.
I am currently over 11 weeks pregnant and baby is due in Aug.
Is there a way i can put DD in a nursery (if i can find a place) but only until Aug?
we can't afford to keep her in when i'm on mat leave and no salary.
Thank you for reading, sorry for the ramble I'm feeling very upset and vulnerbale today.
