LG is delighted to invite 25 Mumsnetters to try out the new LG KizON with their DCs.

Here’s what LG say, “We would be delighted to have you test our latest wearable device, the LG KizON, designed for children and made for parents. The LG KizON is a wearable designed exclusively for pre-school and primary school children that gives you a simple and convenient way to communicate with your youngsters.

The LG KizON has been designed specifically for children to wear on their wrists to be used as a direct communication device with their parents and guardians. Sharing information and call access with a limited number of adults - approved by you - the LG KizON offers ease of mind by delivering real-time information of a wearer’s location and giving your children the ability to securely communicate with you via just a press of a button.

With its GPS capability, durable child-friendly design, easy-to-use functionality and a long lasting battery, the LG KizON offers an unobtrusive and secure way for your family to check in on your child’s location, call them back home for dinner or even just call to say hello, giving you peace of mind and giving them greater freedom and independence while they play.

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child age 3-9 and has an Android phone with the software Jellybean 4.1 or above. Everyone who is selected to take part will receive a free LG KizON, supplied with phone credit to last the duration of the three and a half week trial period lasting 25th March – 13th April . To get started, testers will just need to download the LG KizON app from the Google Play Store in order to register themselves with their child’s device.

Upon receiving the device, testers will be provided with clear set up instructions, a guide on how to get the most from the product and have access to product experts should they have any further questions. Testers will be required to post their feedback via the trial survey by 10th April and then directly on a Mumsnet feedback thread by 13th April. Testers will be welcome to keep their LG KizON as a thank you for taking the time to share their invaluable feedback.

If you’re interested in trying the latest in children’s technology with the LG KizON, please sign up here. Entrants must apply by 5pm Tuesday 24th March and testers will be contacted on Wednesday 25th March.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I will follow with interest, as this could be useful for my family (dd1 has ASD and would like more independence, but also needs close support and immediate backup available).

I don't, however have an Android phone are there plans to release Apple compatible app?

Aargh we have iPhones but this sounds amazing.

The survey says 6-10 but your title here says 3-9.

I have signed up as I have the correct age child, but wanted to point that out for others.

Signed up for 6-year old DS1. Sounds like a great way to start to introduce independence & also to get him more used to technology.

I've signed up for 8yo DS although I fully expect 5yo DD to insist on a turn as well!

Ah this sounds really good. My ds has started to play out now with his friends and I'm not sure about a phone at his age, a wearable would be a great idea.

Yes this does sound good having two boys with asd, a toddler and an eight year old daughter this would give them more independce and myself more security in knowing how they are when they're and about out in the garden or the woods.

It would also be good at the beach if they get out of sight. I can see lots of brilliant, practical uses. Sadly we too have iPhones and iPads.

Signed up. Disabled mum with two children, seems like an ideal solution to some issues I have.

I have iPhone!!

I am intrigued by the age range though as this seems incredibly unnecessary for a 3year old.....

I would also like to check whether it is age 6-10 or 3-9

Thank you

I have a 3yr old and it seems totally unnecessary for her - can see the appeal with an older child (6-10?) though

I have two boys aged 7 and 8 and would like to try this. One of them in particular has a talent for getting lost and I would be interested to see how this works.

Hum. I have a nearly-4yo and a 6yo so qualify either way, but that's confusing.

Fingers firmly crossed. This would be a godsend for the awkward gap between pickups (2.45/3.10) and for my unfortunately increasing doctor's appointments.

I've signed up, I hope the age range stated in the thread rather than the survey is right. My 4 year old starts school this year, we live in a family friendly area where kids play out and once she makes friends at school she will no doubt be asking to go too. This would be great for reassurance for both of us.
