I think web chats seriously need a rethink.

They don't work as they are.

People are not very polite patient at waiting for an answer, nor realistic about how many questions the visitors can answer and how quick they can type.

I wasn't here for the chat but I have read through it and he didn't do that bad.

I completely agree, and posted this yesterday too (don't know how to link to the post but it was on the DC chat thread at about 5 20pm ish!).

I have been a Mnetter for almost exactly 1 year and don't post much, and I know that the thread itself was largely the MNet 'big names' but I do think it came across as the kind of impassioned thread that newbies steer clear of!

I don't care what everyone else says, I think we came across as borderline rude to GB and very rude to DC. There must be a better way to do this?

I agree that people aren't necessarily very polite or patient - but I wonder whether it's partly that people are mirroring the behaviour they see in the House of Commons? Has shouting at politicians become the accepted way to conduct any political discussion? I don't think this should be the case, but I think that it may be the case at the moment.
