A news item reports how the LGA (Local Government Association) wants alternative promotions to 'BOGOF' (perhaps individual discounts, which could certainly benefit pensioners who may want to buy at half price, but cannot justify BOGOF deals if the weight is too high to carry or the food will be in a cupboard for a really long time, for someone living alone.
The retail consortium suggests some stores are more flexible with the 'one free' being collected 'later' but if that is not the case in all stores, would it not make sense to campaign for it, ... or simply charging half the amount per item when there is a promotion... (ever seen that single package sitting for days as the discount for a second would be missed?)
It does seem daft if some of the 'double puchase' items are simply thrown out because they were not used, in time, so wha do you do? Buy BOGOF deals and always use the items, or have you some guilty secrets about some items going to waste / recycling?
