Whats your favourite twins book? ( i.e. one that tells you what to expect not one that you can read to your twins)

I need to recommend one. I read Carol Cooper's book but I thought it was mince.

I really liked Emma Mahoney's Double Trouble: Twins And How To Survive Them. It convinced me that a natural birth was possible with twins and that I didn't need all the intervention the consultant was suggesting (I was having non-id twins).

I also thought Carol Cooper's was a bit mainstream, too much stuff in not enough detail and all a bit 'safe'.

Great thanks! They are eight months old now and an absolute pleasure to look after. Sometimes i feel that it's a shame they are twins cos when I am doing something with one I am 'missing out' on the other. The baby stage is such a special time so it is a shame they have to share, but i didn't really enjoy pregnancy so I am glad I got two out of the way at once!

This bit is easy, they are not moving yet! Not looking forward to when that are about 2 - I have a niece and nephew who are 18mths and 2years and they fight like cat and dog when they are together! They are so exhausting

I read the Carol Cooper one too fg and didn't like it, too preachy, enjoyed double trouble as a read, rather than being particularly informative, other than that I stuck to 'normal' pg books, of which I found birth and beyond the best

I have birth and beyond but never really got into it - it is massive! Which bits did you think were good? I will take another look.

I liked the tone of the whole thing really, can't remember much more than that (DTs are now 5 and have eaten my brain!!)

"Having Twins and More" by Elizabeth Noble

I've got about 5 books. 'Double Trouble' was a very easy read but a bit 'one directional' and she just came across as someone with loads of money which made having twins a lot easier! The Elizabeth Noble one was a bit touchy feely for me (and I am quite touchy feely!) like 'sending your unborn babies thoughts' etc.n but also lots of good info, but quite a dense read. I like one called "Yes You CAN breastfeed twins" - it also has loads of other stuff in. It's written by a Mum of twins/ dietician and more focussed on post-natal, but it's easy to read and covers loads of stuff. I have found most of the stuff I actually used was in there.

As above, Having Twins and more is a huge book that's very informative.
Didn't like Double Trouble - couldn't follow advice - didn't have the money to employ the staff it suggested I would need!

You could look at twinspration
double duty, its twins, mothering multiples by karen kerkhoff gromada ,the multiple pregnancy sourcebook, the multiples manual, your pregnancy quickguide-multiple births.

My personal favourite for multiples is "I sleep at red lights", I feel it is funny good for dads and puts things in to perspective as is about Triplets
For a twin book I enjoyed mothering multiples

I'm sure this is a little late, sorry new to this site today but I found the Tamba book of twins very educational, enlightening and the one message I really got from the book was routine, routine, routine and from 3 months my twin boys were and still are sleeping happily 12 hours through the night and now happily weaning with us having the same attitude to routine as we established with sleeping patterns. They are very contented precious little boys
