More aches and pains with Twins?

Just wondering if any other twin mummies experienced more discomfort and aches and pains with twins than with singletons.

I've already started a thread explaining how worried I am about the whole thing, but every pain is causing panic!

I am 10+4 weeks and keep getting very achey pains in my tummy, they are not so bad I feel I need to be checked over, but I didn't feel anything like this when I had DS.

Is it due to the fact that my uterus will be stretching twice as quickly? Or should I be concerned and go get seen?

Sorry for sounding so naive and worrisome!

Thanks in advance.

I had sharp pains before I found out it was twins, which I didn't have with last pregnancy. Don't know if it's related to it being twins.

I have no previous children to compare to but even with a first pregnancy I got a bump quicker than people with a singleton at the same stage so the aches you are feeling could well be your uterus stretching that little bit more or it could be your body reacting normally to a second pregnancy which by all accounts can feel different to the first because the muscles and ligaments are reacting to a previously experienced phenomenon instead of a new event. What would it take right now to alleviate your overall anxiety? If it's hearing from the midwife that everything is ok then get on the phone. If it's getting a scan then you could try calling the EPU and seeing if they'll let you come in (but be prepared to wait and ime I had to go to A&E for the referral before then going to EPU so it took several hours in total). If the reality is though that either of those options will only give you temporary respite from the worrying then please talk to your midwife about that issue instead otherwise this might be a very long pregnancy for you. For me, I took control of my worry by only focusing on the next appointment and counting down the days to that. I've had a couple of extra checks (one scan and one heartbeat monitor) when I've got more worried and have spoken to the midwife advise line once. In comparison a friend who is a week behind me has had many extra scans privately as this is her way of coping with the worry so there are many different ways of coping-we all just find our own.

Good luck xx

More than likely it is your womb stretching. I had this when pg with my twins. Multiple pregnancies different to singletons, lots more hormones , more room needed etc. if you really worried contact mw.
