Could it be twins?

Hello, I am 9+5 week pg with my 3rd. This is probably a really stupid question but just needed some feedback from your own experiences. I have a scan arranged for 12 weeks and I know that only that will really tell. I have been very unwell with this pg. I have a home doppler and have been sucessfully finding a heart beat for a week now.It is high, I think about 3/4 cm above my pubic bone. Last night though I thought I'd found 2. They were about 3cm apart, 1 was quieter than the other, but having used my doppler for my 2 previous pg, there is no mistaking that horse hoof sound instead of the placenta. Is it possible that there were 2 or is it more likely that it isthe same heartbeat just from a different angle. Oh btw I have non-identical twin sisters.

Isn't it non-identical twins that are heriditary....?

I'm sure it's non identical that are heriditary and identical that are a quirk of nature. (I wanted to say freak of nature but that seems impolite!!)

Sorry! It'll make that 12 week scan more exciting

I have no idea whether it could be the same heartbeat though.

Non-identicals tend to be inherited I think - I think the theory is that you inherit the capability to produce two eggs per cycle and that naturally your mum would be the one you inherit that from!

Feeling much more ill this time round would also be in keeping with the twin thing and having twin sisters.....well.......I'm amazed you've escaped this long .

The "do you ever wonder" thread under multiples is used daily by all us struggling twin mums and we'd be delighted to have you on board . There is a selection of ages of twins, a few expected soon and two little boys who we think have just popped out.....

Thanks so much for your replies. I know I just have to wait til the scan in two weeks time. I've never really thought about it with ds or dd but this one just feels different. Hoping it's a good different not a bad different though when it comes to the scan. As long as it or they are healthy. IYKWIM

Lets hope Doris' lurking friend is about .........

Lets try not to be worried - remember how crazy it gets....everyone wants a bit of you, everyone wants to help, her dd will be upside down and need security of having mummy home. It could be oooooh, ages, took me 8 months .

C'mon Doris.....I might have to start singing and dancing to entertain.....
