24 hour flight with 6 month old twins - HELP!!!!

As the title suggests I am soon to embark on a 24 hour flight with my 6 month old twins. This will be their first flight so we're jumping in at the deep end! We are flying at 8pm to Dubai (7-ish hours) with a brief stop in Dubai before re-boarding for a 14-hour flight to Sydney. We're travelling with Emirates and have reserved the sky cots. I'm keen to hear any tips or advice as am slightly apprehensive about the whole thing. Also, any suggestions on how to completely flip our pretty established feeding routine so that we are having dinner on take off and breakfast 24 hours later on arrival. Thank you in advance!!

There was a thread about this in Travel not that long ago, might be worth trawling around in there.

Meanwhile very best of luck! I must admit I didn't take dtds onto an aeroplane until they were old enough to equalise their own ear drum pressure etc Smile

I have a friend with twins who flys to the West Coast of the states regularly. I can't help you with routine, but she always took at least one spare top for herself, so you don't arrive covered in baby gunk!! She accepted that to get into the time difference it's basically 1 day for every hours difference. When she arrived she always went to bed in early evening for the first few days as she knew the babies would be awake very early - she was out for a lot of 5am walks!
