Is anyone interested in joining me in a new book circle?

Brief explanation for those who have not done it before, copied from one of the first circles via flame:

1. Get 12 members (one for each month of the year).

2. Decide if you have any banned genres (chick lit/mis lit etc)

3. Decide a date each month you post books.

4. Make the members into a list to show who posts to who (post the the person after you on the list).

5. Exchange addresses (PMs to the person above you in the list to give them your address, and the person below you to get the address to post to)

6. Post book (pref with MN name written in it!)

7. Read, enjoy and comment on that book's thread

I've started a new thread so that the OP contains the posting list as it is something we may need to refer back to over the year...

Slightly off topic note....if you were in last weeks circle and haven't had/would like your original book back, please post on the old thread. BBR has four!

Thanks noknown smile

I so rarely get a pm I was deeply suspicious, then I remembered this thread grin. I've sent off my address to housewifefromheaven.

Misery lit.

mumofjust1 Sun 24-Jun-12 20:43:48

Sorry, but what's mislit?

Chance not dance <sigh>

Er... I was expecting a PM asking if I fancied joining again! I was Yolking in the the last round. Any dance you can squeeze me in? Otherwise I'm happy to bow out.

Ragwort Sun 24-Jun-12 20:32:47

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

itsatiggerday Sun 24-Jun-12 20:27:04

Also sent & received addresses.

BTW - simpson did you get your book back from last time? I sent it a couple of weeks ago but it was a bit late.

Jas Sun 24-Jun-12 19:34:58

OK.
NO MISLIT

Chiclit - no one seems to have strong objections, but it would not be my choice. I guess most of us will choose something else so one or two would be ok.

No strict rule about thickness, but any that are small enough to post as a large letter are nice. 3"thick hardbacks are not. Just use a bit of common sense.

Most important, if you love it and want to send it then do. This is how we get books we wouldn't have looked at twice under other circumstances.

Please do not send a treasured copy of a book if you don't want to risk losing it. In theory the book will come back to you in 13 months, but they don't all make it home.

I don't need to know what you are sending. Post on or around the 1st of each month. When you recieve your first book start a new thread in this section titled FurQuits 4 xxx by xx (using initials only) for discussion.

Please pencil your mn nickname in the front of the book. It helps hugely when trying to track the progress of a book.

mumofjust1 Sun 24-Jun-12 18:31:46

So what kinds of books are we NOT doing?

Housewifefromheaven Sun 24-Jun-12 17:31:02

My address has gone to pascha

Lightshines Sun 24-Jun-12 17:18:42

Have received and sent postal address.

I agree no mislit, but am not fussed about receving chicklit (as its a genre I never choose to read, so I may be pleasantly surprised) or books over an inch thick!

mumofjust1 Sun 24-Jun-12 16:49:26

Headintheclouds - thanks for your address smile

Lightshines - have pm'd you my address smile

Just thought of something else .What is the banned genre for this group? The
First time I did it,it was chick lit, mis lit and science fiction and I think in the second round you decided not to send any books that were thicker than an inch .Is this still the case or can I send The complete works of Shakespeare grinAlso Jas do you need a list of what each person is sending or do we just post it on July 1st?

Hi All,
I'm really glad to be back in the club and can't wait for my first book! I've Pm'd my address to MUM OF 1 . Hey SIMPSON I think I posted to you in round 1 or you posted to me,can't remember .Thankyou to Jas for organising and letting me join againthanks

Housewifefromheaven Sat 23-Jun-12 20:30:55

I'd go with what you love! That's what I'm going to do. I think grin
