Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

First period after loss - hideous!

I'm on here primarily for a hormone-fuelled rant so apologies for tmi in advance!

When people said the first period might be heavier than usual, I had no idea quite how bad mine would be! I'd say it's actually heavier than my actual miscarriage was (excluding the clotting).

I have been sitting on the loo in floods of tears at work today, as the heaviness gave me flashbacks. Obviously the standard hormones haven't helped!

Really bloody hate being a woman right now!

Oh sweetie Flowers

I remember this well, it was hideous. Changing pads every 45-60mins and passing clots. I was weak and clammy and felt so so exhausted. Lasted 9 days.

If it is any consolation at all the next one was nothing like that and much more like normal. I took Evening primrose oil and starflower oil for the full month as they are supposed to regulate hormones and reduce PMT etc, don't know if it helped or if it would have been fine anyway.

I understand about the flashbacks, it is really upsetting. Look after yourself and get your DP to give you a bit of tlc later. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Might be worth a blood test soon just to check on your iron & ferritin, mine was too low after it all and iron tablets were a big help in the recovery.

Take care.

Hi, thanks for your post. I didn't see them at the time but I'm having another wobble so popped back. So up and down at the mo.
