Possible miscarriage with multiples

I am 7 weeks today and went to the EPU for a scan yesterday after having brown cm for a few days. The scan showed that there were 3 fertilised eggs, one of which was empty and the other two which had yolk sacs but no fetal poles and considered only at 5 weeks development. I am 40 and know there is increased risk of multiples and also poor egg quality but I am a in shock at finding 3 and that all of them are likely to be unviable. I have another scan in 2 weeks to see if they have developed further but am not sure how I will be able to switch off until then.
