Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

They couldnt confirm a Miscarriage!!

My LMC was July 1st...i went to planned parenthood and we took a urine test which came out negative. So I started on Birth control pills. The last week of the pill I was having intermittent pelvic pain but thought nothing of it. Two days off the pill I spotted brown and the next day I started cramping very badly and felt the worst lower back pain of my life. I was rolling around in pain. Then I was on the toilet(constipated) so when I was pushing I felt something start to slide out of my vagina(sorry to be graphic) I grabbed some toilet paper and caught the "thing" in my hand...it was not a clot. It was what I can only describe as raw chicken skin...it was too think and too large to be a clot. My first thought was I miscarried(i didnt know i was pregnant) i freaked out and dropped it in the toilet and a minute later another glob of something slid out of me. My cramping and pan stopped after that happened. I went to the er where a guy doctor did a urine pregnancy test and it was negative so he said i was probably just having a heavy period. I am so ticked off because I saw what came out of me and it was nothing i have ever seen before. Is it possible that it was such an early miscarriage that the hcg would not show up on the urine test? Shouldnt they have done a blood test? I am still bleeding but nothing else scarey looking has come out of me...whats going on????/

Sorry to read this.
If you caught something then I can't believe you didn not test positive as if anything is "that" big then it's more than a five of weeks old it would be 1/2 cm big or 0.2inch... whaat you describe sounds bigger.

Thank you for responding. It seems that it was a couple of inches long...my friends mother(shes a nurse) told me it could have been the embryo. Its just all so confusing.

pregnancy tests can be wrong, i had 5 neg pregnancy tests at 10 weeks with dd all done by my gp and the hospital.

was your last period as heavy as usual? is it possible it was an implantation bleed and you were alot further on?

could what you caught have been the sac? thats usually much bigger than the foetus in the early stages

My last period in July was normal. Whatever just happened to me on Sunday was bizarre and not normal. Ive been trying to figure out what else it could have been but Ive come up with nothing.

Maybe...it was covered in blood though and I did pat it with a peice of toilet paper when i was trying to figure out what it was... It was slimey but was not a clot and too thick to be smeared.

it was on sunday, so you would have been 12 weeks then? defiitely sounds like the sac

I work in theatres. I have seen odd bits of this and that in the gynae theatre.
The description sounds similar to a polyp.
Perhaps it could be that?
I'm not a doctor!

Well Id have to say it wasnt a polyp that came out of me but thanks for a different possibility. This whole situation has me so tired and confused. I have talked to someone who has miscarried and they told me that what I described was exactly what they went through....the only thing that has me in doubt was the fact that the urine preg test was negative.

Ewingtara, low hcg levels can cause a miscarraige so the ned preg test doesn't mean much. like i sadi i had 5 neg test an went on to have dd so they're not foolproof.

hope you get some answers at the hospital

From what I can tell, Ive already gotten my answer. The minute it happened I knew deep down inside that was having a miscarriage. I just wish that I could find someone with a similar situation as mine so that I can have some closure and deal with it in some way.
