I'm starting this thread because I've been reading other threads online and see people freaking out over taking pregnacare with baby aspirin because the pregnacare has Vit K in it and I think people are freaking out about the fact that Vit K helps to clot your blood and the aspirin helps to thin it.

I'm no doctor but I just wanted to offer some reassurance that I had severe preeclampsia in my first pregnancy, I have no family history of high BP or preeclampsia, non smoker, healthy weight and was 22 turning 23 and yet I still had early onset severe preeclampsia diagnosed at 24 weeks, lost my first born by 25 weeks.

A year later we tried again I took baby aspirin before conceiving under the instructions of my consultant and when I went for my booking my midwife suggested I take pregnacare because it's got the vitamin D and the folic acid combined as well as lots of other supplements.

Just to note also, I take pregnacare max by choice as I read a study on the effects of L-Arginine on pregnant women who have previously had preeclampsia, the results showed something quite significant. So pregnacare max being the one that contained this extra ingredient I thought wouldn't hurt. The info on the pack does state, vitamin K is not known to interact with aspirin or heparin. I'm no doctor but my second pregnancy with aspirin and pregnacare max went like this

Aspirin 75mg and pregnacare max from the get go.

My husband weighed 7lb 4oz at birth is 5ft 9in and I weighed 6lb 11oz at birth

There is no family history of diabetes or gestational diabetes

I did eat a good diet, plenty of steak and salmon Grin

Having growth scans throughout late pregnancy as I was high risk and my son was already in the 97th centile at 26 weeks gestation

This went on from 4 weekly then to 2 weekly scans

I delivered him at 39+1 weeks weighing 9lb 9oz. He was and stil is also in the 97th centile with his height so very in proportion.

He's now 4 months old and I'm about to have him weighed again next week but he's a very healthy boy who's in 9-12 months clothing!!

But most of all if you have your worries speak to your doctor or midwife.

The best to all

A smitten happy mum x
