Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Bleeding and cramps have stopped should I still prepare for the worst or be hopeful?

Hi. I spent Saturday morning in a and e as I was bleeding. I'm about 6 1/2 weeks. As the blood wasn't gushing out of me and I was in agony and it is a bank holiday they sent me home and told me to ring the epu on Tuesday (tomorrow)! During Saturday afternoon I bled like I was having a period and had more intense cramping. in the night I had what I can only describe as mild contractions like a tight band all around my tummy and back. Yesterday there was blood when I wiped and mild period type pain and today there is no pain and hardly any blood. I'd convinced myself it wasn't going to end happily but now it's all stopped. I don't want to get my hopes up but I am feeling a bit sick again too.

I've read somewhere else on here about how awful it is if you bleed over a weekend and have to wait for a weekday to be scanned. Surely they should have at least one epu open in every county. Even if you have to travel 50 miles it's got to be better than being sent home and having to wait. It's the most scary and saddest thing I've ever had to deal with Sad

So sorry you are going through this. I agree with you about the need for having an EPU open at the weekend. I went through similar to you three weeks ago and had to wait 5 days for a scan.

I know it's probably not what you want to hear but sadly my pregnancy had ended by the time I got to the EPU. My best advice would be to rest and hope for the best while trying to stay realistic.

Sorry to hear you are in this situation. It happened to me on Friday and I was seen at the local EPU on Saturday at 8am. I'd see the heartbeat the day before and sadly on Saturday my uterus was empty but at least I knew where I stood.

Thanks For you.
