Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Am I having a (very very very) early miscarriage??

This is so so early, but for the last 10days I have been feeling pregnant (sore boobs, nausea, exhausted - the same as when I was pregnant with DS and the symptoms started within two days of conception) but it has been too early to test.

Anyway, I have been in training for a big (amateur I hasten to add) run coming up and have noticed some painful cramps at the beginning of runs that have literally stopped me in my tracks in the last week (along with the nausea & tiredness) but have tried to ignore them, take painkillers and push through.

I started bleeding heavily yesterday (5ish days early) and have been awake with agonising lower back / abdomen cramps for the last few hours. I don't usually get cramps or anything so it's pretty unusual.

If this is a miscarriage, can anyone give me am idea of how long it might last / whether I need to see a dr (don't know why I would as I suppose nothing to be done) and anything else you think I might find useful? Also.. I totally ignored my body's way of telling me to stop and not run/ push myself. I know the usual "it would have happened snyway" and the stats about m/c but I know my body was trying to tell me to take it easy and I ignored it. I shouldn't have carried on training when I felt cramps Sad

Oh, love, I don't want to read and run.

I think very early miscarriages can last a few hours or a few days.

Yes, you should see a doctor to get checked out, if it is a miscarriage to be sure nothing's retained.

And DON'T blame yourself. Hopefully some more knowledgeable posters will be along but my memory is that, this early, what was going to be, will be, whatever you did.

Presumably you are only a few days post conception if you are pregnant so baby won't have implanted yet. Do such early mc cause such a reaction? I think if I were you I would see the dr just to check it was nothing else.

It would i suppose be about 12 or so days post conception now. Still having awful bleeding and feels as if someone is scraping out my stomach cavity with a blunt knife.

If it is, keep telling myself that people run marathons not knowing and suchlike but think I feel a bit guilty for not listening to my body almost telling me to stop!

Aw try not to let yourself feel guilty. You had no way of knowing and presumably if you run marathons you are used to pushing through when your body complains! And I'm sure plenty of people run marathons when pregnant. Maybe still see the dr?

Sorry to hear this, OP.

If it helps, there is actually very little one can do (or not do) to 'make' a miscarriage happen. If that was the case, then 15 year old girls with unwanted pregnancies would be running marathons etc in order to bring on a miscarriage.

On the other hand, you could stay in bed for the entire duration of a pregnancy and it wouldn't prevent a miscarriage :(

Would definitely see the GP. It definitely sounds like you were pregnant (I know those symptoms too :( )
