Hello ladies, would really appreciate it if anyone can help/advise, this is driving me sligtly mad!

After my third miscarriage in January my cycles seem to be abit of a mess. I'm on my second AF since mc and I'm still spotting on day 10. This happenned last month and I didn't ovulate in that cycle either. I'm now worried that I'm not going to ovulate again and the months are going to drag on ttc. My question is has anyone had bleeding/spotting through their cycle and still ovulated/got pregnant and if my body doesn't get back to normal is there anything the doctors can do to sort this out?

I know that it is still early days but I feel like my body is taking so long to sort out!

Hi lucky, sorry to hear you've just had your third mc, I've just had my fourth and it doesn't get any easier. In my experience it can take a few months for periods to settle down into normal pattern as hormones are scattered everywhere for a while after mc. After my 3rd mc I had mid-cycle spotting on a couple of occasions and still managed to get pg again (though mc again).
Is your dr sympathetic? I would go to the dr with your concerns and get checked out.
Also, as you have now had 3 mcs have you asked about being referred for further tests to investigate recurrent mc? I had tests after 3, even though they weren't consecutive.
Good luck, and it is still early days as you say - but get it checked with dr to put your mind at rest.

Hi

I had a mc 6 weeks ago, my first period was strange, it lasted about 3 days, stopped for a day and then I started spotting again for another week. I went to the gp and she examined me and the second lot if bleeding was actually cervical erosion, triggered by all the hormonal changes. (I also had it during my first pg). I've ovulated since (well I assume I have because I had the symptoms and a positive opk). Could that be a possibility? (if you haven't heard of it before it's really common and not dangerous)

Hi MrsMcNulty thanks for your reply. I have had all the tests done and seen consultants at the rmc but nothing has come up. My last pregnancy went to 15 weeks so I'm not sure whether my cycles are worse because I was so far on. My doctor keeps saying it will calm down in time but I can't help thinking its going to take months. I hope I can still conceive even with spotting. meliesmummy its interesting what you say about cervical erosion, can you still conceive if this happens?

It shouldn't affect your ability to conceive no. It's actually more common during pg, it causes spotting. It's basically the cells that should be on the inside migrating onto the outside of your cervix, because they are in the 'wrong' place they bleed easily, hormone changes or any trauma can trigger spotting. I was diagnosed when I was pg with my dd, I bled on and off until 12 weeks. Then I had no symptoms until after the mc. Your gp can diagnose it just by examining you.

Good luck x

meliesmummy its been a while since this last post but I was hoping if you saw this you might be able to help. Although I bled through my last cycle I just got a BFP on Friday two days before AF was due but yesterday (AF date) I had bleeding, three drops of fresh red blood, and then a little later in the evening when I wiped. I haven't had much since then just a little bit of brown when wiping. Anyway, I went to see my Consultant (I'm in the rmc) and she said it is almost likely to be cervical erosion (I was thinking about what you said!) and she thinks I have nothing to worry about. Anyway, I was just wondering if this sounds like anything you experienced in your pg. She said it is likely to keep happening when my hormones fluctuate.

If anyone else who reads this has experience of cervical erosion I would be really grateful for some informtion.

Thank you for reading

Hi lucky

Yes that sounds like what I had on and off up until 12 weeks pg. Did your consultant examine you to check? Or could you ask your gp? It's fairly easy to diagnose apparently.

Good luck with your pg, I hope you get a good outcome. My cycles are still a mess, I'm bleeding every 20 days and showing no signs of ovulating!

Thank you meliesmummy I'm sorry your cycles are in a mess I know how frustrating it is when you just want your body to go back to normal, I cried hysterically to my consultant on day 13 when I still hadn't had a +OPK, she told me to stop doing them and just ttc which I did and it somehow happenned, I must have O on day 14/15.

I've had another lot of dark brown blood today, Its so hard to stay positive with this happening, I'm also not feeling many symptoms but I'm only just four weeks so I guess its v.early.

She didn't examine me, just said that she was certain it would be cervical erosion and I have to admit that although they didn't diagnose this before BFP after speaking to you on here and looking on the internet I was thinking that I had it anyway, it was the only thing that made sense.
