Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Photographs of baby

For those of you who had a late loss....

I decided not to see / hold my baby because I had contracted an infection after my waters broke and I was worried what she would look like (she died very close to the birth though)

The midwives told me they would take pictures and keep them on my file in case I ever wanted to see them in the future.

I have now decided I do want to see the pictures but it is two years ago now. How do I go about seeing them? Who do I write to?

Any suggestions gratefully received and sorry if you know the answer because it means you've gone through the same awful experience.

Hi, I suggest contacting the PALS office at the hospital, they'll help you.
I'm sorry for your loss, I couldn't look at my photos for a long time but have kept them along with some lovely cards and letters.

Thanks I was put off PALS when they claimed not to know how to send a thank you card to some of the ward staff but the staff might have changed so its worth a go!

Have kept all cards and pressed flowers etc. and still have baby's ashes but for some reason I need to see the photos.

I'm sorry about your baby.

I lost my baby at 37 weeks and also didn't hold or see him.
I later asked the bereavement midwife at the hospital if I could get the picture and hands/foot prints, so maybe you could try that. I'm sure the chaplaincy office at the hospital or even someone at the maternity ward would be able to help.

It took me a while to look at them but I'm so happy I have them.
