MC advice (poss TMI)

I had/am having an MC at 7 weeks. Started 2 weeks ago. It has been pretty much just heavy bleeding, pain and some clots. However today it has been a more 'brownish' red, and a few clots the same colour, but it has had a very very offensive smell. Should I be worried?

TIA.

Well don't worry necessarily but do call the GP in thr morning. You probably need some antibiotics.

If it smells really bad, then you may well have an infection which needs to be treated pretty urgently. Call the out of hours Dr, or go to gp first thing in the morning. Do you physically feel ok ? No fever or anything?

I am so, so sorry you are going through this

hi, sorry you're going thorugh this. I second what CMOT says - offensive smell is a sign of infection, and two weeks bleeding is actually quite a lot for an early miscarriage. (it's not clear from your post whether you would be 7 weeks now, ie, the MC started at 5 weeks, or whether you would now be nine weeks, and the MC started at 7?) I would definitely go to doctor asap as infections can cause longer term damage. i hope i haven't frightened you - i'm not a doctor and am only going by what i've read.

So sorry that you are having to go through this.

I was asked after both miscarriages to see a doctor if there was any offensive smell. it can signal an infection, which is easily treatable with anti-biotics.
