Heavy bleeding 2 weeks after post mc bleeding stopped

Hello there. Three weeks ago today I had an mc - they thought at 9 weeks - and was told it was complete. Carried on bleeding for about a week, then fine for 2. Then this week, starting getting what I thought was pmt type symptoms, but thought this was way too early for my period as have read you only normally get your period 4 weeks or more after all bleeding has stopped.

Anyway, today, whilst in the madness of Christmas shopping in john Lewis on a Saturday, I suddenly started bleeding very heavily. This then stopped but keeps restarting. Sorry if TMI, but this is almost as bad as the bleeding when miscarrying, though I have to say have no pain other than a dull period like pain in my lower back.

I really thought everything was done and dusted and DP and myself had decided we were going to try again - and had started trying again about a week ago - but now I haven't got a clue what is going on! Could this be my period come early? Or is it some residual material from the mc and in fact my mc wasn't complete. Anybody got any ideas??

Piglet, from what I have read on the subject it's probably a bit early for a period, I think there needs to be a longer gap between the end of the miscarriage bleeding and a period. Sounds like a horrible experience, hopefully you weren't on your own and you're feeling better by now... Take care x

piglet sounds like part of the mc bleed. Hopefully that was the last of it, but for peace of mind you could do a pg test. If it's still positive then call your epu tell them about the second heavy bleed and ask for a scan to check it's all gone.

I had my period exactly two weeks after my miscarriage bleeding stopped.

I got my first period 19 days after my ERPC, so I only had about a week of no bleeding. The second period started 4 weeks after the first one.

The first one seemed too soon, but was 4 weeks from when I started MCing, so I figured that my body had reset it's 'cycle' at that point, although I don't know whether ovulation occurred that month.
