Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Just started bleeding - need some advice please

Started bleeding this morning (6 wks today). Feel ok (well, as ok as you can) as I thought it was on the cards (loss of symptoms, very similar to my mmc at 10 weeks a few yrs ago).
I'm rhesus negative and unsure as to whether I will need anti-D as it's before 12 wks? Should I contact the dr's, or only if it seems to be very painful/drawn out? At this stage should I be expecting more than a heavy period?
Many thanks in advance xx

Sorry you're going through this. I would contact the doctors if it becomes heavy and prolonged. Having said that I haven't experienced one myself (mmc with an erpc) so some ladies with better advice will come along.

Thank-you. Same here, only ever had mmc with erpc so new territory! Have passed some clots etc but no pain, so hoping I can cope. Not great timing having dd2's birthday party this afternoon Hmm.

Oh no, poor you :( Well it might go some way to keep your mind off it. I find screaming hordes of children tends to do that! Hopefully you won't have too much pain. Hope today goes okay for you (as well as it can iykwim).

So sorry Diege I'm also resus neg, and apparently if the loss is before 12 weeks then anti D isn't needed.
Would go and check with GP, mine did do some bloods for me, and all seems ok.

Hope DS birthday goes ok, and you manage. I also lost my last pregnancy last month on my DS 6th birthday, so kinda know how you may be feeling, I was also 6 weeks.

Sending hugs X

I'm so sorry you're going through this Diege.

I had my second MC at 6+3 just over a month ago and chose to have it happen naturally.

Every woman's experience of natural MC is different and what happens to one won't necessarily happen to another so please don't take my words as gospel but I hope my story will help in some small way.

My experience was quite different to a heavy period, which I get a lot of. There were more clots and at times the pain was stronger than normal period pain. Also it was settled more in my back and thighs than in my abdomen and came in waves.

The pain gradually increased from mild griping over the course of 24 hours before becoming quite strong and I finally passed the sac. At that point the pain and bleeding started to taper off. Throughout the whole experience though my pain was reasonably well handled with some codeine (paracetamol just wasn't enough) and a heat pad/hot water bottle.

The advice I received from the hospital is that if you're soaking through more than 1 pad every half hour then get yourself to A&E. Same if the pain becomes unbearable or you feel very unwell/faint.

I do hope you're ok Diege, that it passes quickly for you and that you have someone at home to be there for you.

You're very much in my thoughts. {{{hugs}}}

Thanks AnytimeNow, that's a weight off my mind about the anti-d - one less thing to worry about. I have to say the Build a Bear party for dd2 is probably the last place in the world I feel like going to Hmm but will just have to get through. No-one knows I was even pregnant in real life, so will just have to hope I hold it together and don't blub.
Starflowergirl thank you so much for sharing your story and so sorry you've been through the same, and twice too Sad. The bleeding is getting a lot heavier, and it's good to know what to expect. I felt that this was coming, and while I am feeling increasingly upset, it's the better option (for me) than having to choose between an erpc with my dodgy cervix or the medical management what with the having to wait 3 mths before ttc again.

Sorry to hear that Diege. I just had my pregnancy confirmed y'day with internal US but was told to return in 2 weeks for dating etc.. (still early).

Started bleeding while at my DCs play -- at least they got to see mummy make an entrance. Have since passed huge clots and am not sure what to do other than lie here in bed as the cramps come and go in waves.

I had a 4mm ovarian cyst show up on the scan -- could this be the reason for huge clots?

I've had 3 DC with no spotting, this is new to me and I don't know what to do...
