Menopause

So tell me how grumpy you are becoming!

I get furious at the least wee thing these days. Am perimenopausal with two young kids and it's not a good combination. Their noise and chatter do my head in. In fact, most things drive me nuts these days. I'm turning into a right grumpy old cow!

How is it for everyone else?

I'm totally intolerant of anything amiss and people in general. Oh I'm knackered from trying so hard to be normal

DH has commented on how unbearably grumpy I am and that he hardly dares speak to me. Luckily DC are grown up and don't live at home. Spending some of our summer holiday with young neices and nephews and I'm dreading it. I just want to retreat into my own world and not be bothered by anybody.

Oh yes, me too. In fact, I'm often grumpy about the fact that I'm menopausal with two young kids and it's "NOT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE".

And you know what else makes me grumpy? Reading about people who are embracing their menopause and it's a new phase of their life, and it's so positive and blah blah blah. It's not. It's shit.

Agree. Fortunately my DC are at uni away from home, so they miss the brunt of it. But I am such a grumpy cow at work these days. I am no longer able to suffer fools!

I never could suffer fools but now I could shoot them on sight.

I've become incredibly short-fused, it was the reason I went to my GP a month ago and he suggested I try HRT. Been on it for 3 weeks now and have noticed improvements - not just in my temper but also sleep, hot flushes as well.
I was so bad tempered I was in danger of losing friends!.

I am the same. Have mouthed off on several occasions. Tried HRT, mainly for headaches and mood swings but noticed no difference so stopped it. Trying Wellwoman vitamins and Black Cohosh. Weird dreams too. Last night I dreamt I had met my soulmate and was having a right good shag! It was someone I knew but this morning I can't remember who it was and it's driving me nuts. Probably just as well I don't remember as I'd never look at them the same again. Blush

I too want to retreat into a warm, safe place, curl up and sleep. When I wake I'll be hairier, fatter, wrinklier, greyer and it won't matter one bit because I'll be in my quiet safe place.

I never expected to feel like this. It's shite.
