Bleeding for weeks

Sorry if tmi, but asking for a friend. She's exhausted, drained and beside herself at the moment.

She's basically not having a period for two months, then bleeding non stop for three weeks. Very very heavy.

She's had tests, and they don't think it's menopause, but no explanation. She is having a cyst removed, but doctors say it's not linked. Is having vit b and iron injections/tablets.

She's mid/late 40's two teenage children and she's exhausted.

Any ideas?

well she needs to go back and ask for more tests. what kind of tests did she have done? it could be fibroids instead of or as well as hormone imbalance. she needs to ask for more tests- a single blood test is not good if she's peri meno.

www.menopausematters.co.uk/heavyperiods.php

This page might be helpful - it covers the reasons for bleeding problems around the menopause, and if you follow the menu on the left, investigations and treatments that should be followed.
