Low-carb diets

Can someone explain to me about how ketosis works please?

Specifically, if you eat slightly higher lower carb over a longer period of time, will your body eventually go into ketosis but take a longer time to do so? And equally if you eat very very low carb will it reach ketosis in a shorter amount of time than plain old low carb would do?

Also, while I'm here, does your body get used to going into ketosis if you bounce in and out a lot and ultimately does it become harder (take longer and fewer carbs) to put you back into ketosis?

I think if you have 50g of carbs you don't go into it particularly if female, but I am not an expert. You can eat paleo/primal and healthily and also lose weight without going into ketosis so it may not much matter if you do or you don't. Faster weight loss usually however comes with ketosis so that might be a reason to do it and I suspect people vary too as to how few g of carb before they go into it.

The reddit page on ketosis is helpful. Type reddit keto into google.
