Does anyone have older kids that grew up living 50/50 with both parents?

Hi just wondering the above? Dp and I have recently split and have a 16 month old dd, she currently stays with me 4 nights per week and ex dp 3 nights per week. I know the split is for the best but I know Ex dp would like us to get back together, but really its for the sake of dd.

I miss dd loads when she is with ex dp and know he too misses her, so I would never consider either of us only seeing her every other weekend, so this arrangement is set to continue as she grows up.

I feel very guilty that she will not grow up in one family home, however, the two homes that she will have will be very much loved. At the moment Ex dp and I are getting along ok, although there are no new people on the scene yet!

I think Im really looking for some positive stories of children growing up in split families that stayed with both parents on a regular basis.

Thanks

I lived 50:50 with my mum and dad, though i was older (12) when they split. I have a really good relationship with both my parents, and to be honest it was the fairest set up for everyone.

I think if he is a good man, your dd can only benefit from having a proper dad in her life.

Of course new partners can present new challenges, but sounds like you have a good secure base to start off with, which is fantastic.
