If I Go Away For 10 Days On My Own Do You Think............................................

....that my Dd will think that I have left her?

Myself & dd & xp are going away on holiday for 2 weeks, then he is going to take her back for 10 days, as I want to spend some time with my friends, who I have not seen in 8 years since I moved.

Was looking forward to seeing everyone, but am now worried that if dd spends all that time with xp, that she will not want to come back home. She is 3.

Only time I have ever been away from her was for 1 week when I went home for my grans funeral.

Am so worried that I'm thinking of not going now. I feel so guilty for wanting to have some time on my own.

At three she will understand.

You or xp can make a chart or he can show her on a calendar what day it is and how many days till you're back.

He can make a scrap book with her, full of things she's been up to in your absence. You can phone/text her, and promise to bring her home a nice present.

As long as he mentions you a couple of times a day (Mummy will be so pleased to hear you've done that/We must remember to tell Mummy that) and is happy to talk about you when she instigates it, all will be well.

Of course she will want to come back home, even at three she knows where home is. She won't go off you and prefer her dad in your absence, really.

Enjoy your holiday!
