Hi I'm looking for some advice. I haven't posted before so please bear with me.
I have 2 teenagers and an 11 year old. I have been on my own with them for about 3 years, previous to this I had a couple of really bad relationships and at one point my 2 older kids moved in with their dad (he was/is very manipulative and had a big hand in alienating them from me to the point they hated me). They are back with me now and all is well, sort of. I recently bumped into a lovely man with who I had a relationship with a long time ago. I'm not sure what to do, I had strong feelings for this man but at the time I had to concentrate on getting my kids back (which i did). My whole family, including my children, will not be happy if I were to date again. I would go as far as to say there could be a chance that they would move back in with their dad. Do I stay single until they leave home?

Can you not date him when they are staying with their dad ? Keep it just the two of you. Absolutely no moving in together. Sounds like you have made some poor relationship choices in the past and put these men before you dcs. They will be afraid you will do this again.the usual rule of thumb is to date for six months before introducing to children. However from your past record, a year sounds safer for the sake of your dcs safety and security.

Can't you just date him and keep it completely separate from your children?
