Concentrix letter

I have received a letter from Concentrix asking me about living with someone. I am really stressed about this letter. I bought a house with a friend who lives in the house too. We live completely independently in the same house. I am a single person and look after myself and my two teenage sons, both of whom have autism. I pay all the bill, i.e. Gas, electricity, council tax, etc and my friend pays me a contribution for his share. I work 30 hours a week and my boys get DLA. I have my own bank account and can send all details of this to them. I do not socialise, go on holidays or cook etc for my friend. He looks after himself and does his own thing. I am really concerned of how I can prove we are not in a relationship because we both live in the same house. I work so hard with my boys I have no interest in a relationship whatsoever. I am so stressed about this. I rang Concentrix this morning and am going to forward the documents they ask for but am still feeling I have to prove my position. Please give me advice

i see no one left message for my post. I feel terribly anxious and worried this morning. Ive cried my heart out. My two sons are both ASD and I don't want them to see that I am worried. It is very stressful as youngest son is sitting GCSE's at moment and also suffer from anxiety and OCD. This Concentrix letter has really caused me so much extra worry. I have no one to confide in as friends don't understand my situation. The person I share the house with just shrugged his shoulders as it is not his problem.
I would appreciate some advice. I just want to cancel my Tax Credit claim now as I feel Concentrix are just going to make it impossible for me to prove I am a single mother when there is another adult residing at my address. thank you

my phone is hopeless so I can't link. but if you look in the money matters topics there's a full up 1000 post thread 'from concentrix on behalf of hm government' which finished a few days ago and there's already a busy 'part 2' thread sitting near the top of the money maters topic.

I've dipped in and out of it and some posters are doing a good job getting their head around it.

They are doing random checks they aren't necessarily targeting specific individuals.

Just follow what they ask and you should be absolutely fine.

I have one myself about childcare amounts. They have been underpaying me in fact so I know I don't have much to worry about as such however it is still a stress and a hassle.

How does you friend pay his contribution? If he pays you by standing order highlight this in your bank statement.

If you are stressed about it why not call Concentrix they are open Bank Holiday Monday today - I thought they would be....!

I just now spoke to a helpful sounding adviser. Although she is naturally not in a position of authority to assess she was quite supportive and I ran through a couple of queries I had with completing the boxes on the form.

Furthermore they record the 'phone call so they can always refer to it in assessing if need be. So for as long as you sound articulate and reasonable I don't see any problem with any queries - for peace of mind I would ring them before completing the form.

I really appreciate the advice I've been given on this thread. I followed the other threads too. Many people are receiving these letters and hopefully get dealt with fairly. I'm sending off my paperwork today and hope to get this sorted soon.

After doing a bit of digging I came across this advice, which I think is sound. In reply to the Concentrix letter:

"I have supplied all of the information as required by law to claim tax credits", " Should my circumstances change in the future I will notify Her Majesties Revenue and Customs in accordance to the procedures prescribed in law".

In this manner unless they have evidence of a fraudulent claim they have no other choice (in law) but to pass it back to the HMRC to allow the claim to continue.

Is that what you have sent ^ I'm wondering the same it seems they only need a couple of letters at your address which arnt yours to prove what they think if that's the case I'm screwed! I let two people use my address and my bank statements show money goig in from when I let a friend be payed into there as they have no account! Sad
