Oh no... I'm getting sick

I've only ever had flu one before and I remember this feeling from about 2 days before I was rendered incapable of doing pretty much anything other than making it to the loo and back to bed. Only last time I felt like this I had the luxury of taking to my bed for a week and now I have a lively 3 year old to contend with.

Any tips/tricks for making it through?

Can you make up some sandwiches and put them in the fridge/freezer? Cook some pasta with sauce now and leave in fridge. Make sure you have bread (toast), beans and soup in for simple meals (all for 3yr old). Also milk for children - all stuff you'll need but wont be able to shop for.

Get disinfectant to hand, a plastic bin/bucket (if no downstairs loo). Get DVDs out and duvet downstairs.

Recently I was ill and got the dolls/teddys out and a pack of plasters and let the children play doctors - occupied them for an hour!

I remember when DH and I had vomiting bug at some time as each other and caring for our 1yr old. Making sandwiches whilst vomiting in bin was a particularly low point.

Good luck.

Are there any family/friends who can take your DC out for the day?

Thanks. Thankfully I'm a batch cooker anyway so plenty meals to keep the little one going and I have just made a huge pot of homemade soup

DVDs it is. Just downloading some kids apps onto my tablet and hope that the novelty won't ware off too quickly. Will keep in mind the plasters. DD would love that.

One thing I hate about being a single parent is getting sick, thankfully it's been a while.
