Court on Thursday!

I've posted this is divorce and legal but not had any answers so I'm taking my chances here too.
Solicitor rang me today, I have go to court on Thursday, this Thursday! Stupid ex defended the divorce but failed to submit and answer, or so we thought!
So we submitted a decree nisi back in June. Solicitor chased it up and the judge has set a date for hearing.
In the meantime, ex has realised he's going to have to attend court and it's not as simple as defending it, so he emailed the court to change his mind, he now wants to get divorced. Judge says no, hearing still stands.
I'm divorcing on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour and he's saying all my reasons are untrue. I can get police reports to back me up
What can I expect? I'm going instead of solicitor just to keep costs down.

just wanted to wish.you luck and bump the thread for you. if you are representing yourself you should be able to get some advice from.the staff at court. stay calm even if your ex is talking crap. make.notes, take your time when answering anything .

All good! Went really well, EX lost his temper and stormed off again (becoming a bit of a habit this, might take popcorn next time!)
He was ordered to pay costs, Ive alomost paid my solicitor off for his work and the actual court fees, does anyone know how I'll get this back?

He should pay it direct to you. If he doesn't pay up, you'll need to go through small claims to enforce it.
