I'm bored out of my tiny mind. Sat at the dinner table talking about power rangers. Listening to them eat like a pair of waste disposal units. It's groundhog day unthanked.

What happens when you go on strike as a single mother?

i understand but then find myself wondering if i actually do want another man in my life, because i really enjoy the highs with my girls, but the lows can be lonely, and i guess now it is getting colder it gets harder because we are so used to just sticking lunch in a bag and heading out to parks etc, but we wont be able to do that for much longer,

are you actively looking for a partner, how you do that i am not sure because everywhere i go i meet very strange people, i also dread going through all this again, so i guess that hols me back a bit
how old are your children?

Aw FF, you are a great mum, not so hot on poetry appreciation, but a great mum.

I thought you were having guests today ?

Christ no, i never actively look for men.

I do have a boyfriend. Thats not the issue.

The issue is living alone and somedays wanting to take it out on someone. I think these are the days married couples probably have domestics. I have to just come on here and rant otherwise i will be a nasty mother.

I think what i'm trying to say is sometimes sunday lunch seems a bit pointless without an adults appreciaton!

Have you been taking photos in my house lgj?

Or just to be able to say "Im going to the shop see you in half hour"

And walk out the door without having to dress a wriggling toddler who wants to wear her fairy dress and fifi wellies, no coat and my pink diesel baseball cap

Then when we get to the shop she wants EVERYTHING. Even extra strong mints warrant a tantrum
When she finally settles on a banana and £2 magazine even though she's 2 and cant read I forget what Ive gone to the shop for

Days like that are almost worth going back to my ex for

I know what you mean , it would be nice to have adult conversation sometimes!

fairyfly · 03/09/2006 16:21

Yes! To be able to walk out of the house, to be able to delegate some bloody jobs, oy, you, clear the dishes, to be able to say.

Nothing is worth going back to my x for, unless i got syphilis.

PMSL at you two. I am on strike (therefore mning) till they have tidied their rooms - a win win situation for me .
But mine are that bit older - so believe me, it does get better.

WelshBoris · 03/09/2006 16:44

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt change my situation for the world.

I love having DD to myself, I love the freedom. Even though I have a boyfriend I can still come and go as I please

Just occasionly, Id like to lie down in a dark room and scream "SOMEFUCKER ELSE DO THE WASHING UP"

fairyfly · 03/09/2006 17:15

Mine are being fine aswell, they're listening to my c.d.s and dressing up in weird clothes. I've opened a bottle of wine and i'm sat watching Robbie on a horse.

I just want to do some of that FUCK OFF SCREAMING thing.

I am now on strike, not even cleared the dishes or put things back in the fridge. Lets count how long it takes till my kids stink, we have rats in the house and social services call.
