And not feel like it's just one, looooooooong day struggling to keep DD happy/amused!
So, this year is our 1st proper 'nobody but us' Xmas as no visitors, no invites elsewhere and just the 2 of us to make the day go smoothly. I've been fretting a lot about this, my worst fear is always that I'm just not enough for DD, that she'll be lonely and hate me for being a billy-no-mates etc. you get the idea!
So, this year, I've decided that Xmas dinner will be a joint effort - DD loves making stuff so we'll make some lentil soup for our starter, she can peel some veg (she's just getting the hang of doing this so it's still a novelty ) and I think we'll have a bash at some cheesecake for dessert. I've ordered a nice Xmas table cloth and some Santa hat chair covers, and I'm going to try and get some Xmas themed crockery for our table (if funds can stretch that far).
For presents, I've ordered DD 2 new (2nd hand) wii games, 2 new (2nd hand) DS games, and a new board game that we can play to 'kill' some of the day after having a go at the wii. She's also getting some other bits n bobs that will hopefully keep her amused, and we'll finish the day off with a nice Xmas themed movie to watch with lots of Xmas munchies.
That's my plan. Whether it pans out I'm not sure but it's all I've come up with and I'm hoping it makes it special for DD.
Anyone else want to add their plans?
