currently live half an hour drive from my ex. my new partner (been together ages) grew up in torquay anf wants to move back. no doubt in my mind I wouldn't go with him if it was just me. my son's dad has him once a week if that and constantly lets him down to go out drinking or moans about having him. hes an awful dad, doesn't have any bond with my son. if we moved there would be a 2 hour drive between us. I don't want my ex to stop my partner and me moving on. It's been a dream forever to live by the beach but is it harsh on my son? I Would drive halfway to meet him when he had him. nothing is keeping me where I am. partner has lots of family down there and really wants to go back. job prospects too (nothing where I live atm). just want to do the best for my lb. help

Go for it and don't feel guilty .. For whatever reasons you've split up and now your main priority is your ds and your life.
You only have to consider your childs feelings as to how he'll cope moving away from his dad and tbh if he's only 2 and the dad skips visits and no bond is there then your son isn't likely to notice ... and that isn't your fault! :/
