no, that's a British thing. If anyone does it, it will be the class reps (Elternsprecher) but no-one did in our (two) schools.

if anything, they'll get a bunch of flowers handed over by the Elternsprecher on behalf of the parents I should think

seems to always be flowers in Germany for everything, standard gift
