Living overseas

Isle of Man, do you live there?

DH has just found an advertisement for a job on the Isle of Man, so not strictly overseas.

We have a friend who already lives there, so have their perspective, but would really like some one else to list the pro's and con's.

We lived on Jersey for 9 years, so we do know about Island life but, that was before children, so quite different.

Any information, opinions or whatever would be great, thanks.

I don't live there but dh's family do and dh grew up there. We almost went to live there but in the end decided the job on offer really wasn't what dh wanted to do.

I thought that it would be grest for children though probably less so for teenagers. It is beautiful but a bit 'closed' IYSWIM. Couple of important things

1 Never say the word rat - They are longtails or R.A.Ts
2 Never refer to England as the mainland. It is 'across' As in we have just come from across

The mainland thing was the same in Jersey, they would always reply, "do you mean France?"

Thanks for the reply.
