Best way to watch UK TV in Brussels

Hi ,

I was hoping for a little advice. We have just moved to belgium and are settling in ok. We have a TV deal from proximus but most of the channels are French ones except for bbc.

I am facing a revolt from my son if we can't get itv just for the xfactor, although I would quite like to watch downton abbey when it comes back too.

I am thinking the best thing is a vpn, but which is best ? I know that some have loads of adverts etc so want to avoid those.

Also if we get a vpn, will it just be available on one device, or can it be on multiple at the same time , and can we hook our iPad or laptop to the TV so we can all watch ?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks :)

I've had a vpn on multiple devices from my expat network for about 7 years now. I connect in and watch BBC I player, itv, channel 4 etc on my iPad and can also connect my iPad screen to the TV via an hdmi/usb cable or now we use Apple TV and "mirror" an iPad screen to the TV. It's simpler than it sounds!

Myfriends, thank you, is yours a free Vpn?
I hadn't realised you could connect your iPad to the TV, that's useful to know.
Thanks

No, I think I pay £7 a month via PayPal, but we have just ditched our U.S. TV subscription, we use the vpn, Hulu and Netflix, much cheaper.

we use a proxy server app, Zenmate, through chrome, to access international TV. Then plug in the laptop to the TV using an HDMI cable.

However, DH just bought a chromecast - its a dongle that plugs into the back of the TV and you stream whatever is on your laptop onto the TV that way. The dongle thing is wifi. here
