US Immigrant Visa interview

Hi, i posted off my readiness for interview & biometric data paperwork last week, and I'm still no clearer on when I may expect an interview. I have my medical booked for week after next. Can anyone make an educated guess on when may happen? DH already working in the states a month, the house is on the market and I am crawling the walls!!!

Any advice/information of interest/battle tales would be appreciated!

hi whambam, i had a US visa interview recently, and it wasn't at all what I was expecting. i was just called up to a window (a bit like a post office window), where a guy asked me a couple of questions about why i was going to the US (everyone else in the room waiting for an 'interview' could hear!!), and that was that.

Thanks whiteflame, what i meant actually is how long did it take between submitting your readiness for interview letter to actually getting an interview?! Sorry if i wasn't clear. I would just like to have some sort of timeframe in my head!!!

sorry, i wasn't in the UK and I guess it works differently here, because I didn't have to submit anything before the interview - just had to organise a time (had to book about 10 days in advance) and take along my visa application.

the admin afterwards was very fast if that's any help - visa arrived within a week.

hopefully someone with more direct experience comes along soon...

Good luck!!

Thanks, i've just found out about a bridging visa that i can apply for that would allow me to join DH without having to wait for the actual green card itself so that's cheered me up at lot Smile
