I am moving back to Brisbane in December after five years away. I am moving back with no money, no home (I have to move back with my parents and no job (anyone in Brisbane need a general dogsbody, nanny, tea lady?)
I am really looking forward to heading home but I am quite scared that everything will be strange and boring.
Can you tell me the good things about moving back? I cannot stop thinking about the things I will miss, like Waitrose, the eurostar, London in autumn, V&A etc

Well, why are you moving back? There must be a good reason.I am moving home (the UK) in December and can't wait. I am so looking forward to being back in my own culture, surrounded by people who "get" me, having a proper support network again, living in a place where things actually work and where there are decent supermarkets.

What do you miss about Brisbane? Whatever it is, that's why you are moving back!

HowsTheSerenity - LOVE your name, one of my all-time fav films!

All you have to think is 'sunshine'.

I guess I am moving back because my family are all there. My sister has had three children and I would like to meet them. I need to restart my career instead of bumming around the UK and I would like to settle down with someone.
All nice grown up ideals but I love living here!!!!

And yes, the sunshine is going to be great. But I can see myself aging at least 10 years after one Brisbane summer. Not sure how I am going to cope this summer though.

I think the thing that I miss the most about 'home' is that I can often say and read something without having to explain it or having it explained to me .. the frame of reference, humour, language and lifestyle is taken as read without any effort... IYSWIM...

Having a warm winter and family nearby also helps
