Hi everyone,

(I posted this in chat last night but didn't get any replies, sorry for reposting here!)

I just want to check that I aren't going to break any licensing laws...I've bought some music from iTunes and want to put it on a memory stick to play at a work thing, our staff awards ceremony, the place the event is at does have a PPL/PRS licence.

Thanks
x

If the place has the licence my understand is you are okay. It is why people look for a PRS sticker on the hotel door where they are having an event.

If The venue has a prs licence, you can give the venue a list of the music you will use and they can add it to their annual return to the prs.

Thanks so much, has put my mind at rest. I've had someone from the IT department stressing me out saying I'm breaking the law!

yup you're fine but nb to the others, you need both a PPL and PRS licence to plAy recorded music - they aren't the same!
