Hi,

12 days ago my car broke down. I paid the AA £250 to upgrade to relay.
They sent another firm to relay us home. The driver fell asleep and crashed into a ditch, causing whiplash injuries to us and writing off our car.

The company the AA contracted said they would send an assessor to look at my car.
I heard nothing. Last monday I asked the AA what was happening, they didn't even know about the crash.

Today I phoned and they said the other companies insurance will deal with it.
I phoned the other companies insurance company and they said there has been no claim for my car only the recovery vehicle. But they would now send an assessor to value my car.
No mention of our injuries, No apologies, I feel very cross but don't know how I should deal with this.

Have you logged it with your insurance ? They should chase it for you. Hope you feel better soon x

do u have legal expenses cover on your motor policy? if you do they can act on your behalf and pursue an injury claim on your behalf, if you check your policy docs it should say,
notify your own insurer as well but tell them its for info only as the insurers of the recovey trick are dealing
you can pursue an injury claim direct with the other parties insurer, call them up and say you wish to claim direct, they should jump at it as will save them £££, they should also offer u some physio if they are any good, hope this helps !

unbelievable.

raise merry hell with the AA. Starting with their social meejah site, companies now tend to listen to twitter complaints. And you can use a pseudonym!

Well, the AA social media police above were very friendly, but despite them saying they would look into it and I would hear from the AA, still nothing. I have phoned the senior claims negotiator who is supposed to be dealing with it and all she can say is that the investigation will be internal and I won't hear anything, and the other recovery company's insurance will deal with my car.

My car has apparently been moved, I have no idea where it is, surely it is still my car?

To make matters worse, I eventually got a hire car from the other insurance company and that got hit and damaged by a fail to stop driver at the weekend, now I'm liable for the £350 excess on that as well!

I have been a member of the AA for many years and have had numerous years of car insurance with them, and this is how they treat you. Angry
