Very long story as this has been going on for months. The law states that if you buy faulty goods on a credit card the card provider is jointly responsible if the goods are faulty. But my maestro card is refusing to pay. They say there has to be a direct 'buyer to seller' relationship & as I paid through paypal that relationship is broken. But you have to use paypal as a processor if the seller requests it & it was a lot of money. I am out of the dispute period for eBay as I bought last summer. It is an engine worth £1200. They said they can see a payment went to the company but as it was processed through a '3rd party' they are not legally liable. They kept asking me for further information/documents which i provided, followed by a number of excuses which kept on changing. I am now stuck with an engine that doesn't work, a seller that doesn't think its their fault & a credit card bill for something I can't even use. I would appreciate any thought or advice. Thankyou
