Do I complain about our local Hospital?

Firstly, I am not usually a person that sees 'no win, no fee' and thinks 'Kerching'. I get endless junk emails about PPI's & Medical Negligence and basically dismiss them all.

However, my daughter is crying pain having been in plaster cast for 5 weeks with her fractured ankle. We had to miss our holiday 5 weeks ago due to her fracture - now the hospital are saying it wasn't a fracture.

We have been back to A&E tonight as fracture clinic discharged her without follow up X-ray/examination. A&E have referred her back to fracture clinic first thing in the morning.

What upsets me is 18mths ago they failed to diagnose her broken elbow (sent her home to exercise it).

I am so worried about my daughter. I had to get so angry at A&E last night demanding an X-ray - for them to then say it was unlikely to have been broken in the first place.

I know I need legal advice as to what I need to do. Firstly I want professional help to get my child walking again. They don't seem to be doing anything.

Please help with some suggestions. Thank you

I don't think it's that unusual to stick a plaster cast on "just in case". When I was in primary I fractured my ankle, my mother took me back to the hospital for a checkup and insisted on seeing a doctor because I was whining who insisted he couldn't see the fracture. It was sore when the cast came off despite the lack of breakage. I think because you become used to the support, she got me sports ankle support from the chemist which helped a lot. I think they're about a fiver.

It was a Saturday she first did the injury and went to A&E. We were due to go on holiday on the Monday. The A&E nurse said my daughters ankle was broken and the consultant backed the nurse up on this diagnosis. I was told it was important for my daughter to be seen at fracture clinic that Thursday as it was the 'growth plate' she broke which can cause long term problems if not treated with caution.

A&E said last night that there wasn't any evidence of a fracture in the first place?

Having spent 5 weeks in pot and missed our holiday, we have now been referred back to Fracture Clinic. We are there as an emergency this morning.
