Once a Residence Order is granted in favour of the NRP

Can anyone comment as to what will happen (on the day of the hearing... ie the actual real situation of collecting the children!) should the court rule a change of residency in favour of the non resident parent please?... Does it happen the same day?... What is to be expected?
Also will Caffcass (the guardian ad litem) assist?

Varies from caseto case, and depends on what the child's needs are.

ime, the court will allow a few days at least for the parent(s) and sometimes the cafcass officer to sit down with the children and explain what's happening, and for arrangements to be made, esp. if a change of school is needed.

I've never known the children to be handed over on the day of the hearing (tho' it's actually fairly unusual for NRP to get full residence anyway).

My Step dad was a NRP that got residency (but was very complicated with abuse issues, and my step bro was in foster care for a while whist the hearings were going on, as a rehabilitation period) The Hand over so to speak happened about a week after the final hearing. From what i've seen it's not very often immediate, there is usually a settling in period.
